課程概述

The major goal of this course is to learn the concepts, new methods and findings of a wide-range of topics in genomic studies through reading and discussion of original articles. Selected articles of each topic have a major theme and involved various issues commonly encountered in genomic studies. Course will begin with an introductory lecture to point out important issues. Students are expected to read assigned articles in advance and discuss the designated questions during class. We’ll cover topics related to a) Study design, data analysis and integration; b) Assessment of human genome variation and regulation; c) Using genomic information in medicine and public health.

1. To learn the concepts, new methods and findings of a wide-range of topics in genomic studies.
2. To learn how to read critically original articles in genomic studies.  
課程要求

Class participation (45%), assignments (25%), and final report (30%).
Class participation: including presentation and discussion.
Assignments: written discussion about the designated questions listed in each session.
Final report: choose a topic and describe concisely the design, main findings, unsolved problems, and future directions of studies in the field.
